Welcome!
This is a new blog of yet another pre-veterinary hopeful attempting to gain entrance to a veterinary college. I hope to write about my experiences with vet school, my current clinic position, and culinary endeavors.
Eight+ years of veterinary, management, and animal husbandry experience in zoo, exotic, wildlife rehab, small animal, equine, and emergency. Looking towards applying to veterinary school. Stories of these experiences to follow.
I love to cook just about anything but find that eating Paleo feels great and makes the most scientific and ethical sense. I have been playing off and on with a low-carb lifestyle since 2000 and have been eating meat since 2004. I love the challenge of working with breads and French pastry, but will gracefully [hah!] resign from a carb-loaded lifestyle in an effort to be consistent and eat what makes my body work best.
I am also an EXPERT Iron Chef Scavenger. Give me four random ingredients in your
'fridge/pantry and I can come up with amazing stuff. This comes from living as a vegan in a household of Standard American Diet folk who would bring home a zucchini, egg replacer, and call the vegan shopping done. That said, I don't often cook from recipes, so I will give approximations in return.
